The fourth generation Mazda MX-5 (also known as the "Miata" in North America and as the "Eunos Roadster" in Japan) has been in production since 2015. It is a lightweight two-seater roadster with a front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout.
There is no perfect replacement in GTA5, but after lot of testing I picked Surano. Of course, I was trying to make roof animation working for this car but with no success. I noticed that if I just import original .yft to Z-modeler, and export it without any editing at all - animation does not work.
I opened two .yft files in text and HEX viewer hoping I could find diferences and edit it... but on my surprise original and Z-modeler file were completely diferent. I couldn't find any tips or tutorial for what to do, so I gave up. I decided to add soft roof as one of the extras.
Everything else looks fine to me. Tuning parts? -Yes. Bonnet and Spoiler.But .. also I did kind of "stickerbomb". Most of the tuning parts are actually livery. Only doors are uncovered.
I included two templates in .ytd file, if you feel like making your own skin for it ("templatemod" - to replace "modtexture", and "templatemod2" to replace "modtexture2"). Enjoy:)
Credits: "VizPeople" for original 3d model ( https://www.blog.viz-people.com/blog/free-3d-model-mazda-mx-5/ ) I used for modifications. Thank You.
Known Bugs: Roof and Roof Animation related - I removed windows, but as game does not recognize extra roof as the roof, sometimes driver can jump into the car through the roof. I haven't noticed anything else - but maybe there is more.
Installation:
Use OpenIV to replace files.
1.Mods file ("surano_mods.rpf") replace in: "Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf"
2. (Choose folder with your preferable plates shape)
Car files ("surano.yft", surano_hi.yft", and "surano.ytd") replace in: "Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64i.rpf\levels\gta5\vehiclemods"
Done!

@NajPotez If the roof is glitched, you can always do this:
Look for this line:
<animConvRoofDictName>va_surano</animConvRoofDictName>
<animConvRoofName>roof</animConvRoofName>
Just switch the va_surano and roof to null.
And also clear the
VEH_EXT_WINDOW_LF
amd
VEH_EXT_WINDOW_RF
from this line:
<animConvRoofWindowsAffected>

VEH_EXT_WINDOW_LF

VEH_EXT_WINDOW_RF

</animConvRoofWindowsAffected>
This will remove the convertible mechanic for the car so the roof won't glitch. Tested in mine and it works.
@Jonathan6506 Thank You. My idea was to make working car with no additional editing... so anyone can just replace it and drive. I will see what can I do for Add-on version that will follow.
what the heck happen on enginebay look terrible.
@NajPotez You seem to really like Mazda, so I was wondering if you could do a 2014-2018 Mazda3. It would be cool to have my real car in the game.
@Shanelson I would... but someone did it before: https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/2015-mazda-3-s-sedan-hatchback-replace
@NajPotez I know, but there is no interior. You can see through the entire car when a door opens or bumper falls off.
NajPotez mazda ti je odlicna :) ako ne ti e problem napravi mazda 6 2016 , taa sto veke ja ima e so losh kvalitet pozz
@Ljupce87 Hvala.
