Description:
GTBikeV is a mod for GTA V that turns a Smart Bike Trainer, or cycling power meter, into the game controller, making your game time actual training time.
You'll have a cycling workout immersed in the GTA V world environment.
You can use some indoor running devices too and have a jog around Los Santos.
The mod features a library that listens to the ANT+ wireless protocol or BlueTooth signal from an ANT+ FE-C compatible trainer (Tacx, Wahoo, Elite, Bkool, Kinetic, Saris, etc...) or a Power meter, or a Smart treadmill or foot pod, reads the speed and applies it to the vehicle your character is riding during the game. It reads the incline of the terrain, the roughness (material) and the wind in the game and sends all that information to the smart trainer so it can reproduce the hardness of the terrain you are actually riding.
The mod records your training into a FIT file, accompanied with periodic screenshots, that you can later upload to Strava or your favorite training app to track your progress. The FIT file is complete with fake GPS location to make your virtual training more realistic. A new fit file is created when you start moving after activating the mod and every time you change to a new course. The files are stored in the user data directory for GTA V, usually located at "My Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA V"
The mod by default spans a road bicycle and dresses your character with biking clothes.
As using your keyboard while riding the real bike is difficult, the mod features a course reader which auto drives you around Los Santos following
different routes of various difficulty levels. If auto drive is selected but no course is loaded, the character will roam freely around the map (be warned, that could lead you to some serious uphills). Auto driving uses the best driving skill level available in the game so you are not likely to hit anything, but you still can be ran over when driving in the freeways with heavy traffic. The mod will try to recover from that without needing you to use the keyboard.
If auto drive is not enabled, the vehicle can be controlled with the usual steering keys or with a game pad controller.
Some settings can be controlled from an ini file, including the bike model spawn on start, the scale of the slopes (the game present unrealistic slopes way harder than the real life equivalents), and the real world GPS coordinates of 0,0 in Los Santos map that are used to map the location for the FIT file.
Warning: this mod requires actual PHYSICAL EXCERSISE to be meaningful.
Remember mods only work in Story Mode, not in GTA V online

Requirements:
Hardware:
- Smart trainer or Cycling Power Meter

If you don't copy the ini file provided a new one with default values will be created in that same directory the first time you execute the mod .
Usage instructions:
Open the mod menu using F5 key.
Select the first option to activate the mod and initialize comunications with the trainer
Select the second option to toggle autodrive
Use the course selector to select the desired route
Available Routes
As of version 0.4.1.0 routes are downloaded from a central repository. There are more than 30 courses currently to choose from.
If you want to contribute with your own routes you can create them following the json scheme you'll find in the included ones. Ping me on the comments to include them in the repository.

@omerta0414 if they broadcast ANT+ speed or power or Bluetooth speed or power, then yes.
'You can use some indoor running devices too and have a jog around Los Santos.' Can anybody elaborate? I assume most people already have most of the gear before they find out about this mod, I would love to jog around Los Santos but not if it's gonna cost me a few hundred dollars
@ollyolly you need any treadmill and a ANT+ footpod sensor or a BLE running speed sensor. There are a few in the market and they are not very expensive. The Zwift pod for example is $40. If you have a modern running Garmin watch, that may work as well
@Makinolo Fantastic mod. I would only like to walk through LS. Can this be done without a treadmill? If so, can you recommend a device as im not familiar with this technology. You mention the zwift pod but unclear if it can be used alone or must be used with treadmill. I dont care about any metrics, purely to walk as exercise
@JohnFromGWN I'm not sure if a foot pod will work properly if you walk in place without a treadmill. They use accelerometers to calculate the length of your stride and thus the distance and speed you are running or walking. Without an actual stride (walking in place) they probably won't detect speed. For walking anyway, you don't need a fully featured treadmill, a used walking treadmill is probably only a hundred bucks or less.
@Makinolo im so sorry, i meant a stationary bike, not walking in place. Is there a device that can be used on an ordinary bike so that simple spinning with the device can act as a controller, i would use autodrive so essentially it would be just to start and stop.
@JohnFromGWN for that use case I would recommend a heart rate strap and a software on your phone that converts the HR into virtual power like HR2VP
@Makinolo thanks once more. Would you be able to provide a brand and model that is tested to be compatible with your mod. I will only be using this as a controller so want to ensure it will work with GTA5
Thicc boi
Thank you for this awesome mod.
I just have one problem: I'm using Magene Speed-Cadence Dual sensor on speed mode with a horizontal exercise bike and when I pedal, the bike goes slow.
I decreased user weight to 40 (which seems to be the lowest) to increase the in-game speed and it's still 0.8-1.0 max with 35-40W when I pedal.
Is there a way to increase the speed more? I looked for a multiplier setting in the config ini, but setting weight lower than 40 seems to kind of break the mod.
For anyone looking for the same answer, I found a way to do it.
I multiplied all the values in power curve settings with the same number.
For example for 5x the speed, I set POWERCURVE = -0.42,8.925,42.848,19.18186,1250
Nevermind. It worked once for some reason and doesn't work anymore.
@Shizof the problem here is your sensor is measuring cadence. Even in speed mode, it only counts pedal revolutions which are way lower than wheel revolutions. That's why it is so slow. Setting a larger wheel size could compensate that, but that option is not available in the mod. The wheel size is fixed to a standard 700c
Setting the power curve you posted can help a bit, but not too much
@Makinolo Can you make wheel size configurable in the ini as well? Alternatively if the source is available, I can modify it for my needs myself too.
@Makinnolo I had the exact same issue as @Shizof but was able to change my smart trainers perceived wheel circumference via my Wahoo app (I have a Kickr Core).
Thankyou for suggesting that as its worked and I'm now cruising around Los Santos at a respectable speed :-)
Would be good to recommend this to other users who may be experiencing the same issue.
Hi,
Been a while I posted here. I was wondering if there’s a way to turn my bicycle into a E Bike? I would like to speed the game up a bit per se. It’s just for fun. Personally I like to drive the motorcycle around in GTA. And I was thinking this would be fun to go a little faster on the bicycle. Is there a way I can change the speed manually in GTbikVConfig? I already know about reducing weight in Kg or pounds. I tried downloading E Schorcher mod which has E Assit, but couldn’t get it to work. You have any ideas? I ride regularly all year. My ftp hovers between 320-370 at about 70-72kg. I been riding most of my life. I’ve diffeninitly hit my dead end top end I’m pretty sure. No longer able to get faster unfortunately. So I can can’t push that area of speeding things up. Figure I ask to see what you thought.
Side question: when my avatar is riding, he doesn’t pedal. I use wahoo Kikr and have everything synched and my bicycle goes forward, but the avatar just sits there with no pedaling action. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks for all the hard work in this amazing mod!
Looks like a simple speed multiplier setting would help many people. I hope the author considers adding it.
NVM on my questions above. Doing the 5x PowerCurve worked real well. The speed was more similar to what I do outside and on Zwift. And my Cadence issue just needed a basic trouble shooting. All good. Thanks For Power Curve recommendation Shizof!
@Shizof I'm planning adding a power booster when you use something different from a bike, but I need to consider the implications on the multiplayer and maybe disconnect in that scenario. I'm working on workouts right now though, so it will take me a bit to tackle that
i no Bike but so nice this mod
