I can never get the weather right with this mod. Thunderstorms either last too long or too short, and a lightning strike happens perhaps ONCE throughout the entire storm. It's a great mod if we're talking about sunny, clear, cloudy, extra sunny, overcast, and foggy weather, but rainstorms/thunderstorms seem to get broken with this mod. Also, the timecycle is either too short or too long due to the weather.xml file as well as TimeCycleDuration in visualsettings.dat. The rain puddles and rain does look good, but that assumes I'm lucky enough to ever get a rainstorm without forcing it through missions or side activities. Also, wind seems to never blow faster than 0-1 MPH.

@Razed Yeah, the problem is, I did exactly that and it still was invisible. I even decided to restore the emitter files individually. I noticed that the fxweather.ytd file contains "rain_anim" and "rain_anim_distortion". While both files are in there, there's also 2 other files called "rain_invis and rain_anim_invisi", which I'm guessing are responsible for making the rain's animation and distortion invisible. I don't know if deleting them will solve the problem.

Um, I have a problem. The rain for me is invisible unless there's a light source. In other words, I can only see whether it's even raining when light is cast. I can hear the thunder, rain drops, and weather itself but I can't see the rain drops.

Only rain drops in the puddles. Is the weather.xml file responsible for having it, because the original game doesn't even have that file (I know it's the mod's custom file in order to give the weather you wanted) or rather, it has it, but in another folder, and I've always had the rain drops even without the weather.xml file. After I installed the NVR mod, the rain drops disappeared. Even after uninstalling it and reinstalling your mod, they still stay invisible.

@ikt Technically, my problem isn't with having too much Add Ons that the game throws an error. I fixed that problem by using the GameConfig 300+ mod. I just noticed that someone else in a forum pointed out that they had the problem, but I never noticed it on my end, so no problems here. I haven't tried to test the hard limit though of how many I can add before the game crashes, regardless of the config size.

I'm actually curious. What exactly is the weather.xml file responsible for? I ask because so far I've noticed that it includes more instances of rain than the default vanilla GTA weather cycle. It's also apparently responsible for lighting and weather conditions during specific weather types (wind strength, cloud generation, cycle duration etc.)

However, weathercycleduration in visualsettings.dat seems to be responsible for the duration of each weather type. As it stands, the modded visualsettings.dat makes each weather cycle last MUCH longer than the original. Can the mod be enjoyed without the weather.xml and with the original visualsettings.dat data? And what will be affected should those files be removed?

Yep, called it. It's a well-known issue in general. And apparently become recognizable after update 1.34: https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/493/missing-weapon-attachments-mags-in-cut-scenes-pics-included Although to be honest, I don't think I have the problem. I've played through most of the missions with the mod, and never I have noticed any of the guns missing attachments. Certainly Cletus was NOT missing the scope and silencer on his rifle when I replayed the mission.

Then it's been a long time since I've seen characters show their modded weapons during cutscenes. Well, either that or I haven't been paying attention. But then it would definitely be on Rockstar's part since I recall them being default even before the mod.

Just curious. I noticed in a forum when reading about Add On cars, that too many Add-On Cars will cause world props to disappear. Is this true? I know the game has a limit on memory and people say you should place all your Add-On cars in the dlcpacks folder into one folder to prevent. I personally haven't noticed any props disappear although I wasn't exactly paying attention to see if they did. Has anyone had it happen to them yet?

@Marcin89. They're not supposed to. While the cutscenes are real-time, they don't take into account your current modifications because the guns used are scripted to be default without any mods. This is most obvious in the Bury the Hatchet mission when Michael and Trevor point guns at each other. Both will pull out a Beretta without a silencer, even if your Beretta has a silencer during gameplay.

So I decided to try out Razed's NaturalVision. It's got a slightly different lighting to it, but for the most part is pretty good looking. However, I notice it has the same problem as this mod. The issue with weather consistency, variation, and transitions. As it stands, it's not even necessarily a lack of rain that's the problem, but that the weather cycles seem to take too long to change. Hence, why I almost never get any rain.

When I decided to do a booty call with Ursula to get that automatic rainstorm, the rain wouldn't stop going for 3 days. Reverting the "weathercycleduration" in visualsettings.dat from 360 to 120 seems to return the weather duration back to normal, but also causes weak transitions, since clouds would appear and disappear very quickly instead of smoothly transitioning, most likely due to inconsistency with the weather.xml file which I'm guessing is responsible for weather variation, effects, and values.
