Reworked JoBuilt Phantom semi-truck and Rubble tipper.
Features:
- Fixes of Rockstar's bugs and asymmetries all over the model. I removed around a dozen of duplicate polygons.
- Wheel size and suspension ride height were edited to bring truck proportions closer to real, fuel tanks and steps were upscaled to fill space underneath.
- Variety of tuning parts and liveries based on real or fictional custom-built classic Peterbuilt trucks, combinable with each other in order allow you to make your own unique look. Most of these parts are scratch-modeled, those using Rockstar' assets were greatly reworked.
- A variety of spawn colors, based on but not limited to real Peterbilt 379 color palette; all liveries appear in traffic.
- New dashboard, steering wheel, dials.
- The sleeper was turned into a walk-through, with scratch-made interior.
Changelog:
1.0 - Release.
1.1 - Minor tweaks: carvariations.meta, vehicles.meta edits (added WOV trailers compatibility, changed LOD distances to smoothen transition between them on high-resolution monitors). Added template to the file.
2.0 - Added JoBuilt Rubble. Remade vertex paint. Other minor bugfixes.
Known Issues:
- Muzzle flashes of machine guns don't always work. Probably unfixable due to the way game handles ptfxs, unless the model is made into add-on, which won't happen any time soon.
- Some tuning parts clip through each other. Game limitations of the mechanics don't allow me to do anything with this, except of removing conflicting parts. I prefer variety over perfectly smooth tuning, so just don't use these parts together if you find clipping disturbing.

fantastic stuff, I didnt think the Phantom could ever be made to be appealing lol
@Jdog Mods I see no point in making this vehicle an add-on - it's a direct rework and a replacement of the existing Phantom. Version 2.0 is likely to come one day with bugfixes and further improvements, but it's not a priority for me atm.
@w.. ok
Tried this again, game crash on launch. However I suspect the problem is within the dlc file somewhere, I replaced the .meta files and it ran like normal, however once the dlc folder was dropped in it consistently crashes during the loading screen.
@Skystrike no, the dlc file is just fine, it's the game struggling to run mods being that old and overwhelmed with updates. You're not the first one with such problem.
Install a custom gameconfig.xml (I recommend Dilapidated's, can be found here on 5mods), Heap Adjuster, PackFileLimit Adjuster if needed. All these help this 7 year old game run mods, without them it's barely possible to add 1-2 dlcpacks and not run into crashes.
I'm working on a Phantom conversion mod for American Truck Simulator. I'm not sure if I'll ever release it, but in case I do, may I use this mod's improved models and tuning parts? I'll credit you and the rest of the contributors, and link to this page where I can. Thanks!
@Carsmaniac certainly, feel free to use it with credits. Will appreciate if you link me the mod when it is done, it'd be interesting to see GTA model in a new perspective. Beware of few model issues here and there though, I've never got to fix them. The most notable I remember is a little hole between A-pillars and dashboard.
love it. very good work
When you see a Phantom this nice and start imagining it without the sleeper cab and having a Flatbed installed on it for the ultimate tow truck *heavy breathing* i neeed it
Could you raise just front suspension a bit? Front almost rubbing the wheel wing.
Also when the front wheel wings falls off it's physics are glitched.
@w.. Exceptional, your mod considerably improves the immersion in the game.
Thanks!
I not working paint job!!?
paintjob aint working and addon version would be better.
@adrian96 elaborate
@w.. the trucks are currently Replaces do you guys think you could make it Add On ? My server would love to have this mod
Does the mod have trailers with it
@PROD1GY_BRS there's just one of me guys. No, the mod is not intended to be an add-on, it's just an improved vanilla vehicle after all. You can convert it to add-on by renaming things in .meta files so that they don't reference anything from the base game Phantom.
@American1028 no, why?
@w.. hey man i added this to my game now it crashes on load up i have followed all steps correctly could you please help me out it will be very appreciated if you do
@nightmxre251209 I can think of two probably causes for a straight up crash during loading: either some game limit adjusters aren't installed and the game hits one of its many engine limits with this mod, or you created a formatting error in vehicles.meta during line replacement
@Jdog Mods Did u get the template
I believe this mod does not work with Rebalanced Dispatch Enhanced, any work around?
