This is might be the best guide for GTA Modding ever, love the cover works and the guide itself, so detailed and easy to understand. It's like Rockstar from other dimension, and they support modding, this might the quality you might get from them
11/10
@MissySnowie Hey. Great to hear from you. and thank you. Hope all is well.
Thank you for making this guide. I personally don't need it, but it's a great idea and a really nice initiative from you. It's presented in a clear style with all the important information, which will definitely be perfect for beginner modders.
@ig lasotaaaa Thank you very much. There are still many beginners out there, particularly with GTA VI not happening any time soon. Like many others have commented, I wish I had had a guide when I first started - one without misinformation too.
@JohnFromGWN Would anyone be able to help me .ydl file for a ped?
@fihan79256 Thank you for the rating. I personally have very limited skills in 3D modelling - converting props to ydr using sollumz and blender is all i've done. You haven't mentioned what software you're using but I would recommend you find a discord server or forum with your software of choice and GTA 5 modders. The other option is Youtube. For example.

Can I translate your work into Chinese and publish it on the video site "bilibili" in Chinese mainland? I would like your permission and consent before I finish translating! I'm doing all the translation work by myself, and I hope you agree and thank you for your great contribution to this community! Thank you very much! If I could wish I could post the Chinese version here (this is free, and my translation work is free), I will credit the original creation from you every time I publish, and I will not delete any of your PDF pages! Thank you again! If I don't get your consent, I'll stop the translation work immediately.
Great epic work! ~ It will allow more players to devote themselves to the development of mods
@SyuanSra1024 Yes of course, absolutely, please go ahead..great idea. And thank you for the kind words.
@JohnFromGWN, Nice work! I used to make a living making training vids / materials. Too bad this wasn't around in '17 when I started modding. Would have relieved many a headache! Unfortunately (for me) this is far too 'basic'. I'm all in when you get around to the 'Advanced' vers.!
@iammistahwolf Hey and thanks! Definitely for beginners and I'm sure you are already well entrenched in the Advanced category. I was thinking of doing a guide on scripting, not a programming focus, more how to do common things such as spawning entities, doing task sequences, menus, all they way to speech synthesis and speech recognition. All with tested and working code, but just simple snippets.
@JohnFromGWN, Hey John, are you willing to give contact info? I've two scripts I'd like to make but 5mods took out DM'ing here. I'd like to touch base if you're game.
bro was cooking
@YHWHDios Thank you sir.
@iammistahwolf Are you on Discord? Please keep in mind I'm not a dev but sure we can talk.
@JohnFromGWN Cool. Yes I do 'Discord.' Is your handle the same as here?
@JohnFromGWN instant like and 5 stars! This can easily be one of the vlbets modding communities when it comes to mods, but easily the worst when it comes to help for beginners and support. This is great !
@scarredface1017 Big thank you!
For anyone interested, the next instalment of the GTA V Toolkit will include a guide covering all aspects of editing and customizing both normal and streamed peds. It will not cover creating peds or drawables from scratch however.
idk why i noticed this but you misspelled "fighter planes" on page 13
absolutely fire guide tho
@YungxDev You are more thorough than I am. lol. I do use a spellcheck but of course "fighter plans" would go right through. I hope to have an update with a section on ped editing later this year or early in 2025. I'll make that fix. Cheers.
