Putting the Vinewood Zombie to shame.
Presenting my first passion project of 2026, Project "The Undead."
Over the years, I noticed there hadn't been a true-and-proper zombies mod that checked all the "horror" boxes for me; most mods just featured one singular zombie ported from a singular game, and some were just reskins of Graham, the Vinewood Zombie.
This mod is my answer to those asking for something different and sick of killing the same old clone zombie. I've sourced 22 base zombie models from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Black Ops 6, and added my own unique flare to most of them, with some personal jabs and references in a few particular ones.
To add variance, most of the zombies are different heights; even with this, all of them have functioning jaw movements (including the Doppelghast!).
Because the intention is for this mod to be used in single-player mods with many zombie spawns, I've optimised each model and bake the textures in 1024^2 resolution; this way, users on low-end PCs can experience the change of pace.
I've also added glowing red and blue eye textures to each head, in addition to some of the already-present white ones that came with a few models.
Do note that this effect will be disabled if you enable the "Blackout" or "EMP Mode" options in trainers, as emissive bits all use the same string of code.
Do note, however, that because of the 50,000KB file size limitation for .YDDs, I had to remove four zombies peds — two of which were the Vermin and Doppelghast from BO6. If you wish to use these, you will need to install and use my Add-On Ped version.
This pack includes the following:
○ A singular, all-in-one add-on ped, complete with:
• 22 unique zombie models, including the Vermin and Doppelghast from Black Ops 6
• Custom and lore-friendly textures
• Two-to-three options of glowing eye colours
○ An all-in-one replace ped, fit with all of the above minus four zombie options
There are no (known) bugs with any portion of this pack.
HOW TO INSTALL:
REPLACE VERSION
I have organised the files in one convenient place for you in my mod. You will drag all four of the files into the following directories (in your mods folder):
⦁ (mods > ) x64e.rpf > models > cdimages > componentpeds_u_m_y.rpf
⦁ (mods > ) update > x64 > dlcpacks > mppatchesng > dlc.rpf > x64 > models > cdimages > mppatches.rpf\
You must replace the files in BOTH directories for the vanilla Vinewood Zombie to be replaced.
ADD-ON PEDS VERSION
First, install Add-On peds at this link here.
Then, right-click on the application in your GTA 5 root directory and run it as an administrator.
In the drop-down at the drop, create a new ped and enter this as its name:
ywr_zombies
Select the "Male" option, set "Is Streamed" to "True", click "Save", and click "Rebuild" at the top.
Finally, in OpenIV, drag the files from the download into the following directory:
mods > update > x64 > dlcpacks > addonpeds > dlc.rpf > peds.rpf
You're set.
CREDITS:
- Activision & Tr3yarch for the model, mesh, and original textures
- Rigging, scaling, assembly, weight painting, and texture map baking by myself
- Lee_Costumes and Shyxuo for beta testing the add-on version of the ped
- Lee_Costumes for the last three screenshots (click "Expand to see all images" above for these)

@gtavjamal Yep, this seems to happen often at around this time of day. It's definitely a server error on their end, as the photos ended up appearing after a few hours in times where this previously happened.
@YourWelshRaptor thanks for the clarification and sharing this awesome mod

How to install this mod on FiveM?
Can you do something with military or nah
This is amazing! It would be awsome if you could make each zombie a different ped
Can you please do Jane Doe from zenless zone zero? Please, it's my most favorite character. Thank you.
Your mods are amazing - would you ever consider adding Max Payne 3 gang peds, like Cracha Preto, UAP, Comando Sombra, etc.? It's all by Rockstar, so they'd fit into the game world stylistically and look very cool!
does this vanilla files work with simple zombie mod?
